In some circumstances—such as seeing patients without the owner present—obtaining recording consent isn’t necessary. For veterinarians handling these cases, VetRec allows users to disable the recording consent prompt that normally appears at the start of a session. Shown below:
Before disabling this window, note that:
By disabling that consent confirmation, you represent and warrant that you (1) have notified all users of the recording in the app; (2) obtained their consent for recording and use of data in the services through a separate mechanism; and (3) assume responsibility for any claims by your users that their consent was not effective.
Now onto disabling the window.
Step 1 (organizations only): Admins — Go to Settings > Team Settings, enable Allow users to disable recording consent window, then click the toggle and review the pop-up to confirm eligibility. Click "Disable Consent Confirmation" and save.
Step 2: To disable the window, go to Settings > My Settings > Confirm Recording Consent, then click the toggle and review the pop-up to confirm eligibility. Click "Disable Consent Confirmation" and save.
Once disabled, the recording consent window will no longer appear when recording from the web, the extension, or from the VetRec app.
