Sync and Export Visits to Cornerstone

Sync your Scheduled Appointments and export your notes back to Cornerstone

Prerequisites

You must have Cornerstone Connected to VetRec to use the Sync and Export feature - Read our Guide on Setting up the Cornerstone Connection for details

Syncing Appointments from Cornerstone

  1. In VetRec, navigate to All Visits in the left sidebar.

  2. Use the date picker to select the range of appointments you want to sync.

  3. Select All Doctors from the dropdown to sync appointments for all providers, or select a specific doctor to import only their appointments.

  4. Click Sync Cornerstone.

On your first sync, you will be prompted to enter the Staff ID from Cornerstone. This can later be managed through Team Member Controls on the VetRec settings page.

VetRec will import the selected appointments within seconds.

  • Click Sync Cornerstone again anytime to update with recent schedule changes.


Exporting Notes to Cornerstone

  1. After completing a visit note in VetRec, open the Notes tab for that visit.

  2. Click ActionsExport to Cornerstone.

In the export dialog, confirm or enter:

  • Patient ID (prefilled if appointment was synced)

  • Staff ID (prefilled if appointment was synced)

  • Client ID (Owner) (prefilled if appointment was synced)

  • Short Description (optional)

  1. Adjust any fields as needed, then click Export.

  2. In Cornerstone, the note will appear as a new Clinical Note under the patient’s chart.

Finding IDs in Cornerstone

  • Patient ID and Client ID are visible on any screen where you're interacting with Patients Records.

  • Staff ID correspond to the Staff ID as it appears in Cornerstone (usually initials or a numeric value, e.g: "KC", "10", etc)
