Once your notes are done, you can export them directly into your chart in Instinct — no Chrome extension required.

VetRec connects to Instinct so you can drop your notes exactly where you want them after mapping your templates.

Getting Started

Before you're able to export your notes directly to Instinct, you must configure the integration with Instinct. The setup is only required once per hospital and can be done under 2 minutes.

Configure your VetRec template for Instinct

You can customize how you want to export your Records to Instinct on each of your VetRec Templates. To get started:

  1. Head over to Templates on the Vetrec side navigation bar.

  2. Click your desired VetRec template.

  3. Click on Settings -> Integrations

  4. Select Instinct.

Within the template configuration you have several options for exporting:

  • Chart: will export your documents to your desired chart

  • PDF: will export the documents as PDF attachment to your patient's visit

Select Chart and map each of the sections in VetRec to desired location in Instinct.

5. Once you're happy with your mappings hit Save.

Exporting your Documents over

Once you've generated your documents - just use the "Export to Instinct" button to send your records over. That's it!

If you Sync your Visits VetRec will drop the document automatically to the right place.

If you don't sync your visits, you'll be prompted to select matching visits in the last 24 hours - select the desired visit for your record to finish exporting.

Syncing your Visits from Instinct

You can sync your visits to VetRec to have all your patients automatically show in VetRec and speed up your workflow. To get started:

  1. Head over to All Visits on the Vetrec side navigation bar.

  2. If you only want to sync your own visits and not include any other staff in your hospital, select your name from the Doctor/Staff dropdown.

  3. Click Sync Instinct

  4. When you're ready to work on your visits, just click the desired visit and use Add to Visit to proceed to record.

That's it! If this is the first time you sync you'll be prompted to Confirm your Instinct user - this will link your VetRec account with your Instinct account. Just select the desired user from the list to save the link.
