VetRec now supports separate language settings for recording transcription and note generation. This means you can record a consultation in one language and have your notes, discharges, and client communications generated in a different language.
Overview
There are two independent language settings:
Setting | Purpose | Example |
Recording Language | The language spoken during the consultation. Used to transcribe audio into text. | Spanish |
Note Language | The language VetRec uses when generating medical notes, recaps, and discharges. | English (US) |

Common Scenarios
Multilingual practice
A veterinarian conducts consultations in Spanish but needs medical records in English. Set Recording Language to Spanish and Note Language to English (US). VetRec will transcribe the Spanish audio and generate English notes.
Template for specific client communications
A clinic needs most notes in English but produces discharge summaries in French for certain clients. Keep the default note language as English (US) and set the specific discharge template's language to French.
