VetRec Chrome Extension: Installation, Setup & Usage

Download, install, and use the VetRec Chrome Extension side-by-side with your PiMS

Updated over a week ago

The VetRec Chrome Extension allows you to open VetRec side-by-side with your Practice Information Management System (PiMS), record visits, view visit history, and export notes directly into EzyVet, Pulse, and Instinct.

Install the Chrome Extension

Navigate to the VetRec extension page on the Chrome Web Store and press the Add to Chrome button to install.

Pin the Extension

We recommend pinning the VetRec extension so it's always easy to access alongside your PiMS:

  1. Click the puzzle piece icon in the top-right corner of your Chrome browser.

  2. Find VetRec in the list and click the Pin icon next to it so it turns blue.

VetRec will now appear in your browser toolbar for quick, one-click access.

Once installed, you will be prompted to Sign In. This will open the main VetRec web application — sign in there, then return to the extension and press the Refresh button to complete the sign-in process.

Enable Microphone

After refreshing, you'll need to grant microphone access for recording to work:

  1. Press the Enable Microphone button in the extension.

  2. A new tab will open — select Allow While Visiting the Site.

The extension is now fully set up and ready to use.

Record a Visit

The Chrome Extension has full recording functionality, just like the VetRec website and mobile app. You can start and stop a recording and process notes once the recording is complete.

View Visit History

Access your full visit history directly from the extension. The same filters available on the website and app are available here.

Tap into any visit to view the generated notes for that patient directly in the extension.

Export Notes to PiMS

The extension supports direct note export to EzyVet, Pulse, and Instinct. Individual notes and sections can also be quickly copied with a single button click.

For detailed export instructions, see our Integrations Help Page.
