With VetRec, you can append to notes using the using the Add to note capability. This means that even after notes have already been generated for a visit, doctors or technicians can come back to that same note in a visit to add follow up information like diagnostic results, call logs or private notes.
This capability can be particularly powerful for techs and doctors to work together in capturing and sharing information about a patient.
When adding to a visit, you may only add to a single note at a time. Add to note is supported on web, extension and mobile apps. In all experience, the way to use this capability is to click Add to visit, and select the note you want to add to - this will redirect you to the scribe for you to record no audio. Once you click Process it will bring you back to your visit notes, where you will see updated notes with your new recording integrated.

For any visit with a note already present, when you click Add to visit you will get a dropdown with options for how you can add to the visit. The initial options will each allow you to add to an existing note, one at a time. Once you click on one of these, you will be redirected to the scribe page to record new audio
The Create new note option is covered in detail in Create multiple notes in a single visit
On the scribe page, you will see an indicator that you are adding to an existing note and it will specify the title of the note you are adding to. Start recording, stop and click Process (same as before) - this will redirect you back to the visit notes, where you will see the selected note update with information from the new recording.

Example Workflow
Dr. Whiskerson and their technician Bee are working together on the case for Fluffy. To start, Bee goes into the room with Fluffy and Fluffy's owner to take history and vitals.
Bee starts the recording with VetRec using their phone. Once the history and vitals are taken, Bee stops the recording and send it to process right away.
In the other room, Dr. W is on their tablet and can see the notes for Fluffy's history and vitals that Bee just captured. Dr. W can review them right away. Once reviewed, Dr. W walks into the room with Fluffy and their owner. Dr. W selects Add to SOAP Notes under the Add to visit button on Fluffy's visit and starts recording again.
Dr. W goes through the consult and once they are done, presses the stop recording button.
Dr. W then presses on start processing to generate notes for Fluffy. The notes combine the history and vitals information taken by Bee with the rest of the consult take by Dr. W.
A couple hours later, Bee sees that the blood test results are back for Fluffy. Bee can again Add to Visit and speak the results into VetRec. The results are added to the existing set of notes that were already captured.
