Bulk Select lets you select multiple visits and apply an action to all of them in one go, saving time when you need to update statuses, reassign visits, manage staff, or clean up old records.
Where to Find It
Bulk Select is available in two places:
Visit List (sidebar) β Click the Select link that appears next to the sort control at the top of your visit list.
Active Cases Board (Kanban view) β Click the Select button in the board header toolbar.
How to Use Bulk Select
1. Enter Selection Mode
Click Select to enter selection mode. You will notice that each visit now displays a checkbox on its left side.
2. Select Visits
Individual selection β Click on any visit card or list item to toggle its checkbox. Selected visits are highlighted with a blue border and background.
Select all β Click Select all (N) in the action bar that appears to select every visit that matches your current filters. The number in parentheses shows how many visits will be selected.
The action bar shows a running count of how many visits you have selected (e.g., "3 selected").
3. Choose an Action
Click the Actions dropdown to see the available bulk operations:
Action | What It Does |
Change Status | Set the status of all selected visits to one of: Not Started, In Progress, Hospitalized, or Completed. |
Assign To | Reassign all selected visits to a specific team member. |
Add Staff | Add a staff member to all selected visits. |
Remove Staff | Remove a staff member from all selected visits. |
Delete | Permanently delete all selected visits. This action is irreversible. |
Note: You will only see actions you have permission to perform. See the Permissions section below.
4. Confirm the Action
After choosing an action, a confirmation modal will appear:
For Change Status, select the new status from the dropdown, then click Confirm.
For Assign To, Add Staff, or Remove Staff, pick a team member from the user picker, then click Confirm.
For Delete, a confirmation dialog appears. If you are deleting 5 or more visits, you will be asked to type the number of visits being deleted as an extra safety step before proceeding.
A loading spinner will appear while the operation is in progress. Once complete, the selection clears automatically.
5. Exit Selection Mode
Click Clear at any time to deselect all visits and exit selection mode.
Selection mode also exits automatically after a successful bulk action.
Permissions
The actions available to you depend on your role and relationship to the selected visits:
Action | Who Can Perform It |
Change Status | Any team member, as long as all selected visits belong to their organization. Admins can always perform this action. |
Assign To | Same as Change Status. |
Add Staff | Same as Change Status. |
Remove Staff | Same as Change Status. |
Delete | You must be the owner of all selected visits, or be an admin. |
Admin roles that bypass these restrictions include Organization Admin, Medical Director, and Doctor Admin.
If an action is not available for your current selection, it will not appear in the Actions dropdown.
Tips
Use filters first. Narrow your visit list with search, date range, status, or provider filters before entering selection mode. "Select all" will only select the visits that match your current filters.
Combine with the Board view. The Active Cases Board lets you visually scan visits by status column before bulk-selecting across columns.
Drag-and-drop is paused during selection mode. On the Active Cases Board, card dragging is disabled while selection mode is active so that clicks register as selections instead of drags.
