Private visits let you control who on your team can see a visit. When a visit is marked as private, only the visit owner can view it. When marked as public, it is visible to the entire team.
Private visits are only available for admins of a team
Private visits are only available on web and browser extension. Visits created through the mobile app will always be public. Coming soon to mobile apps.
Setting a Default Visibility
If you frequently create private visits, you can set your default so that all new visits start as private.
Navigate to Settings > Personal Settings > Privacy.
Toggle Private Visits by Default on.
When enabled, every new visit you create will automatically be marked as private. You can still change the visibility of individual visits before or after recording.
How Private Visits Work
Making a Visit Private from the Scribe
Before you start recording, you can set the visibility of the visit directly from the Scribe page.
Open the Scribe.
Look for the eye icon to the left of the patient name field.
Eye icon (open) — the visit is visible to your team.
Eye with a slash — the visit is private (only you can see it).
Click the icon to toggle between private and public.

Private:
You can only change the visibility before starting a recording. Once recording begins, the visibility is locked in for that session.
Changing Visibility from the Visit Overview
You can also change the visibility of an existing visit from its overview page.
Open a visit from your Visit History.
In the Owner section of the visit overview, look for the eye icon below the owner name.
Eye icon (open) — the visit is visible to your team.
Eye with a slash — the visit is private.
Click the icon to toggle between private and public.
Only the visit owner can change the visibility of a visit. If you are not the owner, you will not see the toggle.
Creating a Private Scheduled Visit
When creating a visit through the Visit Scheduler, you can set the visibility before the visit is created.
Open the Visit Scheduler (click the + button on your visit list).
Fill in the patient name and select a staff member.
Click the visibility button below the staff picker.
It will show "Visible to team" with an open eye icon, or "Private visit" with a slashed eye icon.
Click it to toggle between private and public.
Click Create visit.
Filtering Private Visits
Administrators can filter their visit list to only show private visits.
Open the Visit History sidebar.
Find the Private only toggle in the filter options.
Turn it on to show only your private visits.
Key Things to Know
Admin-only feature — Only administrators can create and manage private visits. Non-admin team members will not see any private visit controls and cannot access private visits.
Owner-only access — A private visit is only visible to the person who owns it. Other team members, including other administrators, cannot see private visits they don't own.
Visibility can be changed anytime — Except during an active recording on the Scribe. You can switch a visit between private and public before or after a session.
Default visibility is per-user — Each administrator can independently choose whether their new visits default to private or public via their personal privacy settings.
Private visits are excluded from team views — Private visits will not appear on the team board or in other team members' visit lists.
