NOTE: Before reading how to create a template, we recommend you to read the overview of templates in VetRec. It provides a good overview of important concepts.
NOTE: Creating a template does not make it by default on your account. If you want to have a template chosen by default every time you record a consult make sure to visit our instructions page on how to set a template the default one in your account!
Creating a template
There are several ways to create a template:
From scratch by clicking "Create template"
By modifying an existing template
By "Importing with AI"
Let's look at all of these!
Template from scratch
If you want to start from scratch, click on the Create Template button.
You will be presented with a blank template that has been pre-populated with a simple S-O-A-P.
Select the type of template you want to create. VetRec supports templates for medical notes and client documents.
Modify an existing template
If you liked a template from the template library (more details on VetRec's Template Library here) you can add it to your account and use it as is or modify it.
If you liked a template from one of your colleagues or from our Pre-Built ones simply "Duplicate it" and edit it as you see fit!
Don't forget to hit Save!
AI Imported Template
To import an existing template, click on the Import Template with AI button.
Copy and paste your existing template directly into the box provided and click Generate Template.
VetRec will generate a template based on the provided information and display it inside the Template Builder:
Once generated, the imported template will appear on the Template Builder. Make sure to add a name and any necessary changes.
