NOTE: Before reading how to create a template, we recommend you to read the overview of templates in VetRec. It provides a good overview of important concepts.
NOTE: Creating a template does not make it by default on your account. If you want to have a template chosen by default every time you record a consult make sure to visit our instructions page on how to set a template the default one in your account!
Creating a template
There are several ways to create a template:
From scratch by clicking "Create template"
By adding a template from the VetRec Library
By "Importing with AI"
Let's look at all of these!
Template from scratch
If you want to start from scratch, click on the Create Template button.
You will be prompted with this Create New Template bubble. Click on Start from Scratch
You will be presented with a blank template that has been pre-populated with a simple S-O-A-P.
Select the type of template you want to create. VetRec supports templates for medical notes, client documents and records recap.
Template from VetRec Library
If you want to start from one of VetRec's prebuilt templates, click on the Create Template button.
You will be prompted with this Create New Template bubble. Click on Use Template Library
You can pick one of our 70+ VetRec library templates to start from! For example, let's pick SOAP Notes w/Physical
This will make a copy of our premade template. Feel free to customize it to your liking.
AI Imported Template
Let's go back to the Create template button. There is two ways to import with AI: with Uploading a Template or Pasting a Template
Once your template is uploaded/pasted, click Generate Template. You will be taken to another screen where you will be able to set a couple things:
Template Name
Toggle Verbose Mode (more details on Verbose Mode here)
Styling Options (more details on Styling Options here)
Click Next once your preferences are set. If you intend to use this template with an integration, you can set one of our provided integrations on the next page. If you don't need an integration for this template, click Skip.
AI will detect and create sections and entries with the template you provided. You will be able to deselect the ones you don't want; feel free to customize it to your liking.
And just like magic, VetRec's AI will have created a custom template for you.
For all of these template creation methods, don't forget to Save!
