Templates are the core of VetRec's customizable notes, client documents and recaps.

What Are Template Instructions?

Template instructions in VetRec guide the AI in generating structured and clinically relevant notes, client documents and discharges based on the provided input. These instructions define how the AI interprets and organizes information into a final note format. Well-crafted instructions ensure that generated notes are consistent, accurate, and aligned with veterinary documentation standards.

Instructions can be applied at various levels of a template:

  • Template Level: General guidance to be followed throughout the entire template.

  • Section Level: Scoped guidance to be followed for a whole section of a template.

  • Sub-Section Level: Scoped guidance to be followed for a whole sub-section of a template.

  • Entry Level: Scoped instructions for a specific fields of a template.

All entries provide you an "Instructions" field where you can customize your instructions.

For all sections and sub-sections, you will see an "Advanced" button. When clicked, this will bring up an "Instructions" field to enable you to customize instructions at those respective levels.

Similarly, you can make the template level instructions visible by going to Settings then General Instructions.

In addition VetRec supports Fixed Text Entries, which are pre-defined text that remains unchanged across all notes.

Write instructions with AI

With VetRec, you can further simplify your instruction writing experience by using the "Improve instructions with AI" capability. When you click on any instructions field, the "Improve instructions with AI" button will light up.

Click this button, optionally add any specific guidance for the improvement you want and click Improve. In a few seconds, you should see an improved instruction that integrates your guidance into the instructions. Even if you don't provide any additional guidance, the AI will still improve the instructions as best possible!
